Vienna Treasure Hunt

This week, those interested to have fun and go on a little adventure can join the Vienna treasure hunt organized by street artist Tabby. This man is considered as Vienna's version of  well known British graffiti artist Bansky. 

This treasure hunt will go on for a week and will include daily challenges. Those who succeed will be rewarded with one of Tabby's art works. The map and starting point of the hunt will be posted on the website. 

Oktoberfest Dress Code

Many people look forward to celebrating Oktoberfest each year. It's an annual event that lets people enjoy their favorite beers, socialize and meet new friends. 

But there's more to beer drinking during Oktoberfest. If you're serious about taking part in this fun event, you also need to know the proper dress code although this is not a requirement for attendance. 

Dressing in the traditional Austrian-German costume is a fun way to enjoy this famous Oktoberfest. 

Game City in Vienna

This October, Vienna will turn into a Game City as it once again hosts the yearly Vienna Games Conference. For this year, the 8th games fair will carry the theme "Future and Reality of Gaming" or FROG14 and is scheduled on October 10-12. 

Expected to grace this event are representatives of the games industry, non-profit organizations, academic, international experts, scientists and more than 60,000 visitors. 

Vienna Design Week

Vienna is one international city that recognizes the value of design. Each year, the Austrian capital holds a Vienna Design Week that focuses on international but localized design. Through this cultural activity, Vienna becomes a platform of design. 

This year, this special week is scheduled to start on Friday, September 26th and will run until October 5. Various events are lined up for this weeklong event such as exhibitions, installations, theme specials, discussions, film showing, guided tours and not to forget, the parties. 

The Escargot Festival

The snail is used as a delicacy in many parts of the world particularly in France. This year, it will be introduced in Viennese cuisine through an event called the Escargot Festival. 

Farmer Andreas Gugumuck who has been breeding snails in Vienna for years now is behind this festival scheduled for September 29 to October 5. For this event, chefs from different restaurants will be invited to create a special dish containing the so-called escargot. 

Wiener Wiesn Fest: Vienna’s Oktoberfest

It may not be October yet but Vienna has already started its famous beer-drinking festival known as Wiener Wiesn-Fest or its own version of Germany's Oktoberfest. Just this weekend alone, the city's first weekend event gathered more than a million people who were out to party regardless of the dreary autumn weather. 

Segway Tour of Vienna

While in the Austrian, there's absolutely so many things to do that a day or two of stay is not enough for the new visitors. Tours are of various kinds as well ranging from the walking tour and bike tour to the river tour. 

Open House Weekend

In London and New York, the open house weekend is a popular event. It is the time when the cities open their buildings that are usually close to public to visitors.  

This year, Vienna held its own version of the Open House Weekend just over the weekend. It's the first time the Austrian capital held such event in September providing people a golden opportunity to explore the city's unique architecture. The event also allowed locals and foreign visitors access to certain important buildings.

What better way to get to know a local in Vienna in a more personal way than to eat with them. This is possible through the Vienna Coffeehouse Conversations, a social dining event, that takes place every September. 

Cafe Ministerium

The coffeehouse culture should not be missed by anyone visiting Vienna. If you're visiting the famous Ringstrasse area, the Cafe Ministerium is a must visit. 

Voted as the most popular coffeehouse in the city center or in Vienna's first district in 2013, the Cafe Ministerium is where civil servants and local business people have their lunch. With red velvety seats and marble tables, the place also hosts club meetings on a regular basis.
