New Survey Says Austrians Love Coffee

There’s no doubt that coffee is a major part any Austrian’s life. In Vienna alone, there’s an abundance of coffee houses around the city offering various kinds of coffee drinks and pastries. 

A new survey has confirmed that majority or 92 percent of Austrians do drink coffee. It revealed that most adults in Austria drink  one or more cups on a daily basis. 

The survey was done online by MindTake Research, a market researcher and covered some 500 people whose ages range from 15 to 69. Of the respondents who took part, nine out of 10 said they drink their coffee in the workplace. Meanwhile, 41 percent prefer to drink their coffee in cafes or restaurants. 

As for the flavor, 25 percent said they prefer Capuccino while 14 percent like to have Latte Macchiato or Verlangerter. Latte Macchiato is more popular among women (21 percent) than men (six percent). Men were f ound to go for Kleinen Schwarzen or GroBen Schwarzen. 

Interestingly, it was found out that coffee was provided to employees free of charge in 36 percent of businesses in Austria. 

When it comes to coffee making machines, the survey showed that 29 percent of Austrian households use the capsule coffee machine while 26 percent prefer coffee made from automatic coffee maker. Some 14 percent like the filter coffee maker, 12 percent use the percolator (automatic drip) and another 12 percent love the classic Espresso made from the traditional Espresso machine.
