Pink Christmas in Vienna

Vienna is one of the most gay-friendly cities in Europe and beyond accommodating the LGBT folks visiting from the different parts of the world, it has places especially dedicated to them. One of them is the Pink Christmas Market which carries the theme “Pink loves – give pink a chance” and now on its second year.

This Pink Christmas market is dedicated to gays and lesbians and can be found in the 6th district, specifically by the U4 station Kettenbrückengasse at the Naschmarkt. It will run until December 23.

There’s so much to enjoy at this market from mulled wine and punch to different types of food as well as handicrafts offered by the 60 exhibitors. Bands and DJs are also there to provide live entertainment during the event. Each night, a program is held starting at 7 p.m.

On Sundays, an extensive children’s program is also offered starting at 2 p.m. while a Pink Musical performance is held at 7 p.m.

In addition to this gay-friendly market, Vienna has an abundance of places around town accommodating gays and lesbians. These include  cafes, bars, hotels and special events such as the Life Ball (May), the Wien ist Andersrum cultural festival and the Rainbow Parade (June) which is one of the fastest growing Pride events worldwide.
