Skiing in Vienna

While most of the top ski resort in Austria are not in Vienna, the capital city has one at Semmering Zauberberg. Open since December, the place accommodates people with or without skiing experience not only during daytime but as well as nighttime.

Ski fans wanting to enjoy the snow in the best possible way can enjoy the slopes that have been well prepared for them. There are 14 kilometers of ski slopes available during the day and another 13 kilometers which can be used at night for serious and experienced skiers and snowboarders. 

Those who love to try sledging can also enjoy the sledge run that stretches three kilometers. This is a thrilling experience as sledgers go down the mountain at high speed and pass through channels. The sledge track is usually open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Apart from the snow activities being offered at the ski resort, visitors will also enjoy the food available. They have plenty of dining places to choose from particularly in the newly opened The Ring area which includes a pizzeria, a barbecue buffet restaurant, a cafe and even an Irish pub. 

In addition, the Zauberberg resort boasts of a lively nightlife. There’s an Apres Ski that plays music and live performances and the ZauberBar which is open from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. A hotel accommodation is in place for those who love to stay the night.
