In Vienna, people of all ages are given their much needed attention. So apart from the kids, the teens and young professionals, the seniors are also given time to be in the spotlight.
Each year, the city hosts the Vienna Autumn Fair Seniors, a health and beauty trade show, wherein an exhibit and other activities are organized with focus on the older generation. Various sectors from the health and wellness, entertainment, tourism, safety, trade, marketing, arts and crafts, transport, education, libraries and IT and communication take part in an exhibition where they showcase their products and services. Some 400 exhibitors are taking part for this event and more than 80,000 visitors are expected to attend the show.
This year, the four-day event will take place from November 12-15 at the Messe Wien Exhibition and Congress Center. It is the largest trade fair of its kind in Europe.
Senior citizens enjoy special privilege in Vienna. Women over 60 and men over 65 can buy cheaper tickets for public transportation. At 2 Euros, a single ticket is already valid for two trips.
Some museums and other tourist attractions also give discounts to the seniors.
