As one of Europe’s best international cities, Vienna often gets attention and recognition. It adds another feather in its cap for being named in Lonely Planet’s Top 10 List of Places to Visit in 2015.

The Austrian capital placed 8th in the world’s top 10 towns and cities to visit in 2015, based on the travel guide’s latest survey. Vienna ranks behind Washington DC, Milan in Italy, Valetta in Malta, Plovdiv in Bulgaria, Salisbury in the U.K., Toronto in Canada, Chennai in India and Zermatt in Switzerland.

A life-changing experience awaits visitors in Vienna, noted Lonely Planet. With its plenty of coffee houses, museums including that of  famous psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud as well as parks and palisades, the city has so much to offer people visiting from all over the world.

A city that constantly re-invents itself, Lonely Planet also noted Vienna’s unique attractions including those that have been transformed from a brothel to a cocktail bar and a sauna converted into a techno dance club. Other unusual places recommended are the stylish studios and the San Souci Hotel, considered one of the most gay friendly in the world.

Vienna is Austria’s largest city with a population of more than 1.7 million. It is well known for being the City of Music and the City of Dreams. For several years including 2014, it has been recognized as having the best quality of living.
